Minneapolis TMT is a combined team made up of swimmers from Minneapolis' South, Washburn, and Roosevelt high schools, and their area middle schools. Since we do not have our own home pool, our practices take place at Southwest High School, the Midtown YWCA, Northeast Middle School, and Olson Middle School, depending on pool availability. Our home meets are held at Southwest High School and occasionally the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Bussing is not provided for practices. Bussing is provided to and from meets and swimmers will be picked up and dropped off at their respective high school.
As well as competing in many meets throughout the greater metro area, our team also hosts both the boys' and girls' Maroon and Gold Invitational as well as both the boys' and girls' True Team State. These serve as our two largest sources of fundraising and our entire team helps to make them possible.
Our mission as a team is to help swimmers meet their personal swimming goals, compete successfully as a team at all levels, and help our student athletes grow both in and out of the pool. We encourage swimmers of all levels within the Minneapolis South, Washburn, and Roosevelt communities to come out for our team. Please reach out to us through our contact page if you have any questions about our team or how to join. We look forward to many successful seasons!
I am head coach for Minneapolis South Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving Teams. I have been teaching in Minneapolis for over 30 years. I teach Physical Education at Anne Sullivan Communication Center where I am also Athletic Director and Girls Softball Coach. I graduated from Austin High School and the University of Minnesota. I am very lucky to be part of the South, Washburn and Roosevelt swim programs as well as families. I am very fortunate to be a part of so many lives from such great swimming and diving programs.
I look forward to meeting everyone!
I am from Colombia, South America. My parents, sister, and my brother's family still live in South America in Colombia and Brazil, and I live in South Minneapolis with my wife and daughters. I have loved sports since I was a kid and have been coaching since 2001. I first started coaching while studying the sport science of swimming at university. A few years later, I became a triathlon coach. I moved to the United States in 2008 and began coaching alongside Jeff after my wife, and former swimmer of Jeff's, introduced us. I love being a part of the swimming team and look forward to a successful season.
I am a 2011 graduate of South High School. While at South, I was a four time all-city performer and a three time state qualifier for the Tigers. I went on to compete for four years at the collegiate level for Luther College in Decorah, IA. While at Luther, I was a three time all conference performer and two year captain for the Norse. I am currently working at Sanford Middle School in physical education and health.
I am the diving coach. I was a diver in high school at Benilde St. Margaret's. I coached at BSM and at Blake-Minnehaha for a number of years. After having my second child I made the hard decision to quit coaching and raise my family. I now have four kids who go to Minneapolis Public Schools and run the St. Louis Park Community Ed swim program. My daughter swims on the Southwest team and they asked me to come coach the MPS divers. I am coaching both the Southwest and TMT divers and enjoy working with both diving teams.
